Of course being raised by Courtney is a handicap for any kid; if you can’t see she’s slightly loony, then you’re not paying attention.

Working with many whose parents committed suicide I’d say: don’t expect a 16 y/o who never knew their dad to be much more sensitive about it than they are toward a stranger’s death…

…but Courtney funded this and allowed it to proceed.

No wonder Kurt was preparing to divorce her when he died, according to Kurt’s attorney.

As the son of someone who committed suicide before I was born (and more importantly, knowing many others like me), I doubt his death messed with her perspective, so much as being raised and influenced by a complete crackhead.

I am saying neither.

Being the daughter of Courtney Love and Kurt Cobain is probably going to mess with your head a bit.
That and when you 16 you are totally into the myth of yourself you are going to do stuff like call you 16th birthday party suicidal 16.
To quote E.A. Poe – “Being young and dipt folly / I fell in love with melancholy” Just a teenager being a teenager.

To be fair, if you’d grown up known primarily for being the child of a famous suicide victim, it might mess with your perspective just a wee bit.
