R.I.P. Kevin Grubbs

NASCAR driver Kevin Grubb, who was found dead in a northside motel yesterday, committed suicide, Henrico Police said today.
Grubb died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head at the Alpine Motel in the 7000 block of Brook Road, according to Henrico Police Lt. Doug Perry.
A toxicology test was performed on Grubb’s body, but results could take six weeks, Perry said.
Grubb, 31 and a native of Mechanicsville, had been suspended indefinitely by NASCAR in 2006 following his second violation of the organization’s substance abuse policy.

We are so sorry to hear this news about Kevin. My husband & I become aquainted with him when he was staying in Nunnelly, TN in 2005. He was a very sweet guy and had it all going for him. We would like to express our sympathy to all of his family & will be in our prayers.
my husband and i have been good friends with kevin and his family for years. I met kevin when he wa 15 years old, he was racing go-karts then. I will miss him and his smile.
this is a sad day for all, lets take a moment to pray for his family…also nascar needs to be a little more observant…
