Michael Jackson: Suicidal?

Jul 15 2009 | Comments 6

From the Telegraph (UK):

Friends of the King of Pop have claimed that he “often overdosed” and had been trying to kill himself for a decade. One said: “We’re surprised he even made it to 50”.

The Daily Star reported that insiders believe the financially struggling star “couldn’t face his problems” and wanted a way out.

He would keep the suicide note in his pocket and overdosed, they told the newspaper. “Michael always talked about dying young,” one said. “He wrote suicide notes then tore them up. He kept one with him – he often read it.

“He wanted everyone to know how sad he was.” Another friend told the newspaper that Jackson had wanted to end his life ever since he was humiliated by child abuse claims in the 1990s.

That’s quite sad.

Michael Jackson Kept Suicide Note

Ari Says:

I’m not one to buy into all the hype surrounding Michael Jackson’s death, though I am sorry the world has lost such an influential person. If this story has any truth to it, that is indeed very sad. It just further supports my belief that he needed very serious help. When I mentioned that to a colleague they responded that he didn’t have anyone he could go to, which is probably true for someone that famous. I think that’s not any kind of life to lead.

Richard Goodwin Says:

It’s hard to believe Jackson would have wanted to die considering how much he loved his children. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F166o1QO6Y8

Tom Says:

It’s hard to believe he’s gone. He touched so many children.

Well, whatever MJ might have done, the reports of Joe Jackson abusing and overworking him from such an early age make me think that Michael was screwed up from the get-go. Poor guy. Abuse is handed down from generation to generation.

family member Says:

The family obviously wants to blame it on someone else. Typical of a family that can’t stand reality.

Bellham Says:

family member, it is hard to face the reality and think clearly (it’s a part of grieving), when your loved one has died recently and you don’t even know what happened. It could have been (assisted) suicide, it could have been an accident, but no one has rejected the ideas that someone else had something to do with his early death. It’s still a possibility.
